BYCO just launched its own tumblr - www.byco.tumblr.com. Check it out and so forth.
And for those who came late to the party:
What’s BYCO?
There’s design and then there’s production. No matter how good a design is, without money and material resources, it will never be more than an idea. At BYCO we’re designers and manufacturers. We understand production, and we see the barriers that stand in the way of designers from making good things.
So we created BYCO.
How BYCO works:
/Sketch: Use the BYCO submission page to create your garment or home accessory
/Proto: BYCO reviews the sketch, and sets a sample price
/Fund: Your design posts to the FUND page, where Funders can donate toward the sample cost
/Sell: When the sample is fully funded, BYCO produces it and your item goes on sale in the SHOP
/Ship: At the end of the sale period, BYCO puts the piece into production, and ships the final design to buyers
/Profit: Designers receive 20% of the sales and their design for free; Funders can get 10% of the pieces they sell.
But BYCO is more than crowdfunded design. It’s for people who care about good design, who curate design, who want to choose—or create good things. -

PIN–UP kicked off the annual, Design Miami/ and Art Basel Miami Beach week with the launch ofPIN–UP No. 13, Fall Winter 2012/13. Held at the private Miami Beach home of architects George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, the dessert reception honored W Hotels Designer of the Future awards winner Philippe Malouin, who is one of the feature subjects in the new issue. Lauren Devine, budding pop sensation and muse to artist Ryan Trecartin, did a surprise performance and debuted her new single “Love U Far” (produced by Teengirl Fantasy), wearing a custom-made day-glo dress by JF&Son.
